During the month of January our Internet died on us. We had the hardest time trying to get if to work correctly. So we finally called a tech to fix it. Now it is working wonderfully. That is why the post were so few. Here are some of the funny and interesting videos from January that you missed. I figured I would put them all in one post instead of having a whole bunch of one video posts. Cynthia has grown up so much! I can't believe that she is almost 13 months old. It still feels like yesterday that I brought a new born home from the hospital. Now that new born is classified as a toddler. If I am not careful, she is going to be getting married, going to college or going on a mission before I know it!
The base of Ben's birthday cake was a box covered in tin foil. Cynthia found the flat box with the left over tin foil still stuck to it and started to pick at it. She got pieces stuck to her and could not get them off without flapping her arms. So here Cynthia is trying to get the tin foil off her and picking at the tin foil on the box.
Cynthia has always loved the bathroom. She goes through stages, one minute the bath is her favourite toy, then the toilet, mirror, she just moves around the bathroom. Last time she was in the bathroom playing, the tap we her new toy. She enjoyed trying to figure it all out.
In the car Cynthia practices her sounds so when she is in her high chair eating food, she can make noises. Here Cynthia is at lunch time making her new sound - the pop. Notice all the food on her face. She won't let me clean her face.
Here we are practicing for her birthday cake. She picks at the icing oh so gently. I would love to know what is going through her mind while this is happening. She is so focused on the little bear. She only picks at the ear, and all the grey icing. She turned it around and picked at its tail before going back to its face. She is a funny little one!
At the beginning of the year we were walking around Toys R Us looking for birthday present options and we found these stacky cups that were nice a cheap. We had to get them for her. She loves to play with them. She focuses so hard on them. She enjoys putting things in the cups and then trying to stack them - eg. her little keys, dad/mom's keys, cellphones, her binkie, anything that will fit.
Cynthia felt the need to pull the laundry basket around the kitchen with her. Then she got mad when she could not pull it through the gate. So we had to bring the laundry basket into the living room for her to play with. When it came time to nap, she wanted to bring the laundry basket with her. Once she turned the corner she got distracted with the parent's bedroom and the laundry basket was left to defend itself.
Cynthia loves to dig through her diaper bag. Every time we go out I have to repack the bag because Cynthia has dug through it and left everything on the floor around the kitchen. She has never been able to get into her snacks when she finds them and usually brings me a bag to open and give her some. This time she opened one and we had snacks everywhere. She would take a bite of something and put it back, pick something else up and take a bite of that. I had through her whole bag of snacks out because everything was wet and half eaten.
We have some boxes in our bedroom that we have not done anything with. I was going through one and unpacking things. Cynthia woke up from her nap and joined me the bedroom. This is the box that I was going through. Cynthia had to climb in the box and then hand me things that she pulled out. She is so helpful!
As most of you know, Cynthia has been walking by herself since Christmas Eve. We have taken a few videos of her learning to walk and all that, but we have not posted a great one of her walking. Here she is walking around the place. She is now learning to run. It is scary since now she is challenge to beat to places. It was funny to watch her go through her stages of walking. She would walk with her legs straight and her arms out in front of her - she looked like a mummy, then the started to bend her knees and hers went to the side of her. Now she looks more normal.
This was the first day that we had the stacky cups. Ben would stack them all and Cynthia would take one off, look under it, feel it, then take the next one off. Look at it, feel it, play with it. Then she would drop one of them and pick up the next cup. Here she is at the bottom few. She likes to slowly take things apart and figure them out. How many kids do you know who do not like to just knock everything down like a bull in a china shop?
Cynthia loves to hold things and hug them. She will hug her teddies, her dolls, even the lotion bottle. She will hold my water bottle and carry it around the house with her. She had two favourite teddies that she would always play with and hug them. Here she is with one of them. Since then she has added one more to her list of top favourite - the one she got for her birthday. She knows that she choose that one and it is all hers - not stolen from mommy's teddy collection.
Is this not the funniest little one that you have ever seen? She is such a little character and will melt your heart with a little smile!
